This quiz is completed by all students before any of the units are taught – and again after the units are completed. When the results of the initial quiz are compared with the results of the post-program quiz it will enable teachers, the Australian Institute of Sport
and Nestlé to gauge how much students have learned and therefore the effectiveness of this resource.

What can we learn from the events that showcase the world's greatest athletes?
In this unit, students investigate the events that showcase the talents of the world's greatest athletes, including the Olympic, Youth Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. Students will gain an appreciation of the level of commitment shown by elite athletes as well as the cultural value of the Games. Depending on the timing of the unit and where it falls in the Olympic / Commonwealth Games schedule, teachers may wish to tailor activities towards one particular Games, e.g. if teaching in October 2010, the focus may be on the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
